# Rate limits

> How many requests you can make

The rate limits for name searches are **60 requests/minute** and for higher tier requests it may be limited to **20 requests/minute**. These limits may be increased if requested. Email [contact@nameshouts.com](mailto:contact@nameshouts.com).

## Search usage

Name lookups return an `activity_count` object showing your usage:

> Getting a name **without** a language returns every language it exists in and will rapidly increase your search count. We recommend that you use that endpoint sparingly.
